Wednesday, February 21
Studio 107, Artscape Youngplace (180 Shaw St.)
Facilitated by Katie Sly

Often we think about ideas rather than risk writing. Often we aren’t surprised by what pours out of the tips of our pens. Often we are precious about our work, as if we have a scarcity of things to say. DO IT DON’T THINK is a writing workshop which pursues immediacy, abundance, and the unexpected. Using parameters and constraints as tools, this workshop focuses on helping participants get out of their heads and into their words. Participants will leave this workshop with prompts and strategies they can return to throughout their practice. No previous writing experience is necessary. Please bring a pen and paper (no laptops, please), comfy clothes you can move and sweat in, and a willingness to write and share on-the-spot. This workshop is an environment in which sharing is done to learn what others hear, rather than to impress or compete.

This session has a limited capacity, so please register below to secure your spot!
