Bringing All Your Truth

Wednesday, February 28
Buddies in Bad Times Theatre
Facilitated by Bilal Baig

This acting workshop will focus on encouraging participants to bring all their identities into the room in order to transform as performers. This is not intended to tokenize diverse/queer identities, the goal is to honour what makes us different and use that to our advantages in performance. As queer and trans youth, we do not need to be broken down or torn apart in order to act. Nothing needs to be taken away from us. In this workshop, we will play games, do some scene and monologue work and search for what it means to really listen to one another and bring all our truths into performance.

Bilal Baig is a queer, genderqueer, muslim playwright and actor. His first playAcha Bacha had its world premiere at Theatre Passe Muraille in association with Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in February 2018. As an actor, Bilal has worked on projects such as On ECT (Theatre Centre), The Five Points (Theatre by the Bay), Mesh (38th Rhubarb Festival) and Common (Studio 180 Theatre).
