Youth-Elder Initiative – Long Table Introduction

Wednesday, January 24
6PM-7PM
Buddies in Bad Times Theatre
Hosted by LeeLee Davis

The Long Table is a practice that was created by Lois Weaver, one part the the lesbian performance troupe SPLIT BRITCHES. It’s a theatrical tool that allows for group discussions to emerge and play out among the table attendees. A place where interpersonal dynamics, reveal themselves, and simultaneously be addressed by the participants at the table. It seamlessly creates reflection and a deeper sense of self awareness, serving as a tool for transformation. At the Long Table, the group sits together around a table, with a set with a chosen number of seats. Rather than a meal, questions are served at this table. Anyone at the session wishing to join the conversation can take a seat at the table and participate. In this way we explore the intergenerational differences and similarities, paving the way to building communities and the conversations had within them.

Advance registration is recommended as workshops will fill up – please sign up for your spot below. Registration is open to both youth and elders!

This session is shortened (6-7PM) because it is also the youth night for Calpurnia. If you wish to come to the show, please RSVP with LeeLee. Note that tickets are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis (more info here).
